The closest island lands are Isla Del Coco (Costa Rica) 720 kilometers to the north and Easter Island (Chile) 3,200 kilometers to the south. Genovesa Island: Genovesa island is also known as the island Tower and is considered as the most striking island of the archipelago. Its name comes from the city of Genova (Italy) in where it´s said that was the birthplace of Columbus.
