Galapagos Islands Cruises 2023
I have a group of friends that are interested in taking a cruise to the Galapagos Islands in 2023. I gave them a day by day schedule to look at what a typical cruise would like. On the first day you would arrive in Baltra and welcomed by a representative of your cruise to shuttle you to the vessel and then the adventure begins! A typical first stop is traveling to Seymour where you trek and encounter the famous Blue-Footed Boobies and other wild birds. Then day two you will head towards Santa Cruz where there is more vegetation comparably to the other islands and encounter the amazingly huge tortoises.
Day three, you head to Punta Morena and Urbina where you commonly see penguins and you get to traverse black lava rock which attracts a multitude of wild birds, and stumbling upon some of the largest land iguanas in the islands. On the fourth day you visit Fernandina Punta Espinosa which is the youngest with the most active volcano that erupts every few years. Day five consists of Santiago with some of the islands best tide pools, beyond you view the fur seal grotto where you can see them swimming in the lava ringed pools and you end the day in Bucaneers Cove. Then on the sixth day is Rabida and Sullivan Bay, where you are able to view varieties of Finches and where you can see the different characteristics of Lava Flow.
Day 7 you head to Bird Island and Darwin Bay where you have amazing views and a chance to photograph the luminous wildlife including swallow-tailed gulls, red-footed booby, nazca booby, large ground finch, large cactus finch, sharp billed ground finch, small marine iguanas and the great frigate bird. The last day youreturn to Baltra to head home!
